new unit

Today we started a new unit on ungrouped vs grouped data. We got assigned the first question in the booklet "statistics review"

New lesson

Today was a long block and we started with mental math. We finished our tenth one so we had to hand it in for marks.
We started a new lesson on mean, median, and mode.
Mode – the most of one number
Median- middle number
Mean- add all then divide by how many numbers there is

We have to find some data and find the range, then post it on the blog.

Test day

Today was a long block and we didn't start with mental math. We started our test on probability. I thought the test was extremely hard, in the future i will no to study harder.
Once we finished our test we could continue working on our accelerated math!

Test

Today we went over some probability questions as tomorrow we have a test. We went over some that we all had assigned weeks before. We still have 14 objectives to complete.

Today we learnt how to do some new pobability with using a new method.. pascals triangle.

We did an example together and then we got assigned four questions from a booklet.
We still have to work on our vectors project.

Today we did mental math then finished our assignments. Today exercise #4 was due for today but we had the whole period to finish what we needed. If we had finished all of the questions we have to start thinking about what were going to do for our project on vectors.
Tomorrow the rest of our booklet is due.

Marks

Today was a long block and we started with mental math. It was mm 10 so when we were done we had to hand them in for marks.
After we talked about moga madness and how it is cancelled because not enough students signed up for it. It will be regular classes...
We then got a few minutes to finish up our drive way question because it was the last day to receive marks. If we were finished that we could start the picnic table one which will be for marks tomorrow.
To finish we went over the drive way question together. Mr.Max used a spreadsheet to complete the question which was a better method to use other than paper and a calculator. He will be saving it on the transfer drive incase we need to look over it again.

Drive Way

Today we did mental math then we talked about moga madness which is on friday. We then got time to finish our drive way question and it is going to be a homework check tomorrow. Whoever was finished that question could go on to the next question which was about a picnic table.

Cake

Today was a short block and we got our matrices test back. If we wanted a key for the test we could just to go over our questions we got wrong. I didn't do to well so i went over the key.
After we had to finish the cake question from our book we got on thursday. We had to do what we could and show mr.max at the end of class for marks.

We had no homework assigned unless we didn't finish the cake question...

Continue from yesterday

Today was a long block and we started with mental math. After we finished question number 2 from "design and measurement portfolio" booklet.We discussed it in class with the classmates and then we did it with mr.max. Our end result for the question was $535.60.
We then started a new question in the same booklet (#1) We got to work together and our exit slip was to finish and have this question right.

Day 2

Today was a short block and we didn't do mental math. We then handed in our sequence/series and personal finance tests that we started yesterday. We then talked about how moga madness is next friday and we encourage everyone to dress up or just participate. There are games to follow and much more.
Design and measurement portfolio:
We got a hand out that we have to figure out ourselves or with the other classmates. ( question number 2a - page 4 of 4) There is also a program on the internet that could help us out for solving the question.

This is a program that is just like excel, except some people don't have excel at home so this is a site that is recommended.
We finished up class by updating our personal blogs.

Test/classroom test

Today we didn't do mental math but we got assigned a test. It was on suqences/series and personal finance. We worked on it ourselves for about 45 minutes, then we got to discuss it with the other classmates. If we wanted we could all work together or still work on our own. We either finished it or didn't finish it for tomorrow morning at 9, for marks. We finished the class by updating our own blogs.

Test

Today we did mental math then we got assigned a "test". Mr.Max put a question on the board from the provincial exam which we had to do. We then corrected it all together and figured it out with excel and calculator. We did another question which we had to use "state of net worth" on excel.

The last ten minutes of class we updated our blogs.

Question 7

Today we did mental math then went over question number seven in our booklet. We used two methods; calculator and excel. We learnt a new button on our calculator to help us figure the question out and its "Int" (trick). We then had to update our blog and fix up our other ones. We had no homeowork assigned!

Excel Spreadsheets

Today it was a long block and we did mental math to start.
We started a new lesson on Templates:Excel Spreadsheets. There is three steps:
1. Net Worth
2.Debt Equity Ratio
3.Gross Dept Service Ratio
We ended with an example that we made up and solved it.

Work Period

Today was a short block and we didn't start with mental math. We got a homework check on questions 3 and 5. Then we went over both questions using calculator and/or excel. Since my calculator doesn't have the button "apps" i have a choice to look it up on the internet or just use excel. We have tomorrow to show our two questions for marks if we didn't complete it for today.

Personal Finance Review

Today we did mental math then we went over our blogs on how to make them better. We then finished up question number eight and went over it. We got assigned a few questions for the weekend.

Excel(interest rates)

Today we did mental math then started a different way to do interest rates. We used a method with microsoft excel. We have to do question 8 for tomorrow.

New lesson

Today we started off with mental math. It was mm10 so we had to hand in our papers for marks. We then started a new unit on personal finance. We got an assignment

Quiz

To start it was a short block and we started off with mental math. Yesterday we finished up the sequence review questions and mr.max assigned us a quiz. We have to pick two questions from that booklet and hand them in as a quiz, since we are starting our new unit tomorrow.

Oct 5/09

I was sick but this is a blog someone posted from yesterday.

"It was post-secondary day today and the people who got sent out were the ones that got to attend. It was nice to get information on different universities and colleges."

Work Period

Today was a long block and we started off with mental math. We then went over question #7, which was assigned homework yesterday. To solve this question there are four different methods which we went over. (calculator, excel, sequencer, and on paper) After we went over all the methods we got to choose 5 questions from the booklet "sequence review questions",(from questions 2,3,4,8,10,11,13,14,15,16). We also have to complete all the multiple choice. Due for tomorrow!

sequences &series

Today we started a new unit on sequences and series. This unit has to do with arithmetic sequences and prediction stability exponential growth scenarios. It also has to do with Fractal analysis. We then got a booklet to do and we went over question 9 together. There is two different ways to do this question... calculator or excel. Our homework is to find two other methods to solve this problem.

Sept 28 - test

Today we had a sub and we finished our test. I thought the test was hard but i think i passed....
whoever didn't finish in first block could stay for second block.

Test/Studying

Today there was an assembly in the gym so mr.max didn't make us do our test, except some people that wanted to start could. The rest of us just studied for monday which is the new test date.

Test tomorrow on matrix modelling.
Today we went over the entire unit and did some examples on provincial exams.

Exercise 7&8

Today we got a homework check on questions 2,3,4,5 on exercise 7. We then went over question number four together. Whoever didn't finish this homework has another chance to get the marks. We got assigned exercise 8 written questions on page 21 #7. (we went over question five together)

Network and Matricies

Today in class we learnt how to do schematic diagrams which are connected by routes and edges. We learnt how to do the diagrams on paper and then on our calculators. We also got assigned homework exercise #7, questions 2,3,4,5.

Goals
